Alphatax UK Spring 2008 Edition Update (9.4.002 Lib 75.9)
The following changes have been made in update version 9.4.002, Library 75.9:
- FB 2008 legislated for the write off of small pools of expenditure in the Plant and machinery main pool and the Special rate pool and we previously provided new input cells in each pool so that a user could manually write off the amount needed, when relevant. However following the receipt of further guidance from HMRC, we have now deemed it appropriate to update the actual written down allowance calculations so that this new legislation is now automatically applied when the small pool limit is met. As such the input cells have now been removed. Should you not wish to claim the maximum amount calculated by Alphatax, allowances can be disclaimed in the normal way.
- Where WDAs have been disclaimed in either the trade or non-trade Special rate/ Long life asset pools, the display of the actual claimed amounts and the maximum entitled amounts in report mode has been amended. Note that calculations are unaffected by this change.
- An error has been corrected whereby balancing charges generated in both the trade and non-trade Special rates/Long life assets pool were not being posted to chargeable profits.
- A display error in both the trade and non-trade Special rate/Long life assets pool Report statements has been corrected.
- Problems with the Annual investment allowance Report statement have been corrected where amounts allocated to the Non-trade Special rate pool were duplicated in the Allocation column.
- Annual investment allowance fields on Plant and machinery main pool, Special rates/Long life assets pool and other capital allowances Input statements now include an additional note to clarify where company level data should be entered.
- An incorrect diagnostic has been removed re ECA tax credits for investment companies.
- Problems with the display of the Accessory icon and adding rows on the Short lease premium deductions Input statement have been corrected.
